How to Install a Wall Edge Stone Panel

A wall edge stone panel can significantly improve the appearance of a stone wall, but proper planning is necessary before installation.

1. Measure the Wall

Determine the wall dimensions, corners, openings, and areas where edge pieces will be required.

2. Identify Outside and Inside Corners

Outside corners generally require special attention because the stone needs to visually continue around the edge.

Inside corners may require different detailing depending on the panel design.

3. Prepare the Substrate

The wall substrate should be suitable for the selected stone veneer system and prepared according to the manufacturer's requirements.

4. Plan the Layout

Dry-lay or plan the panels before installation. This allows installers to distribute different stone colors and textures more evenly.

5. Install Main Panels

The primary wall panels are normally positioned first according to the installation system.

6. Install Edge or Corner Pieces

Edge pieces should be carefully aligned with the main panels. Joints should remain consistent with the overall wall design.
